Why join Ecademy.com? | Why join Xing.com?

I became a paying member of the Ecademy on 15 June 2006. In September
2000, Thomas Power's mother had joined other local villagers in King
George's Hall at West Dean
where I had created an opportunity for local
people to learn more about computers and the Internet. RecommIT.co.uk
had provided several refurbished PCs for what I had called the 'Community
Web Initiative
' and over a two year period, until March 2002, I conducted
workshops in Village Halls and other venues across South Wiltshire.

In September 2001, a central UK government initiative called Beyond Bricks
was announced to support entrepreneurship and e-business. In March 2003
the Beyond Bricks database was acquired by Ecademy Ltd when the UK
government withdrew from the project.

In March 2006, the Ecademy management decided to restrict access to those
members who were not making a financial contribution towards the running
costs of the platform. In March 2008, the Ecademy management revised the
membership levels to make possible the opportunity for those NOT wishing
to pay a monthly fee to be able to interact with all membership levels.
